Advanced Placement (AP)

Advanced Placement Exam  Information for 2025-2026 School Year

Late AP exam registration
LWSD students who did not register for an AP exam during the regular window may still register during the late registration period (February 17-March 6, 2026) with the following considerations:
  • Late registration is open to LWSD students only.
  • A $50 late fee per exam applies, in addition to the $101 AP exam fee.
  • The late fee applies to all students, including those who qualify for reduced exam fees.
  • Payments must be made in-person with the cashier before school or during lunches.  If you request the fee be added to your account with the cashier, it can be added and payment can then be made online here: https://wa-lakewashington.intouchreceipting.com/

Financial support
Students who qualify for free or reduced-price meals may be eligible for AP exam fee reductions.

Families who need financial assistance or have questions should contact their school’s AP Coordinator, who can provide guidance and support.

LWSD AP Exam Registration Information

Lake Washington School District encourages all LWSD students enrolled in Advanced Placement courses to take College Board’s qualifying AP test(s) in May.

The 2025-2026 Advanced Placement (AP) exams will be administered for grades 9-12 over the first two school weeks of May 2026.

Update: Starting in May 2025, AP Exams for 28 subjects will move to the Bluebook™ digital testing application, as College Board phases out standard paper exams. This change enhances security and provides a more accessible and streamlined student-friendly experience. Most subjects will transition to fully digital and hybrid formats with no paper option except for approved accommodations. Visit this link to help you prepare for this change.
