Current Student in Lake Washington School District
Ensure Lake Washington High School is the appropriate zoned school based on your address by using our school and bus finder
If you need assistance determining which school your student will attend, please contact the Lake Washington School District transportation department at 425-936-1120.
If your student is currently attending 8th grade at Rose Hill Middle School or Kirkland Middle School and coming to join Lake Washington High School for 9th grade with an expected pathway in to Lake Washington High School, no action is required for registration as your student(s) should have filled out a LWHS Freshman Course Selection Worksheet. If you or your student(s) feels they did not complete this worksheet, they may complete it and e-mail it to the appropriately alpha assigned counselor.
If you’ve recently moved to Lake Washington High School zoning and your student(s) was previously designated for a different Lake Washington School District High School, please have your student(s) complete the appropriate course selection worksheet(s), based on grade/graduation year(s) (see below) and e-mail it to the registrar. For any questions regarding courses or course requirements, please e-mail the appropriately alpha assigned counselor. Course requests will be entered upon application approval. Once verifying your address is zoned for Lake Washington High School, please notify the registrar to ensure your student is registered for the newly zoned high school
For this change to be recognized, parents/guardians must provide two (2) of the items listed below (each bullet counts as one item). All addresses on the documents must match the address of your residence. You will need to present original documents. Failure to provide required documents will result in a denial.
- Mortgage Statement or Homeowner’s Insurance Policy Declaration or Property Tax Statement.
- Unexpired Lease/Rental Agreement and include the contact information of the lessor/landlord.
- Utility bill dated within the last 2 months. Accepted utilities include water, sewer, gas, electricity, or garbage (the mailing and service address must be the residence address).
- Cable, internet and phone bills are not accepted.
- Government Mail (e.g. vehicle registration, Good to Go! bill, letter from Social Security, immigration, unemployment, DMV, USPS Change of Address confirmation letter, or election ballot.
- Correspondence from the Lake Washington School District does not qualify as Government Correspondence.
You’ll be able to continue using your current Skyward access via the Skyward Family Access login. If you do not know your login and password, simply click on the Forgot your Login/Password link on the Skyward Family Access login page.
During enrollment processing our registrar will:
1. Verify enrollment information & contact you if any additional information is needed.
2. Email student’s administrator, counselor, and library to notify of enrollment and potential start date.
3. Inform you of the student’s start date, if not starting at the beginning of the year.
Once we have your students course selection worksheet, your counselor will:
1. Use course selection sheet to make schedule and set start date in Skyward.
2. Email, teachers, library, and registrar when the schedule is complete.
3. If provided during enrollment, send teachers any previous grades at withdrawal.
Returning Student to Lake Washington School District

Once verifying your address is zoned for Lake Washington High School, please complete the New Student Registration You’ll use your previous Skyward access via the Skyward Family Access login.
- If you do not know your login and password, simply click on the Forgot your Login/Password link on the Skyward Family Access login page.
- If you no longer have access to the e-mail initially used during the initial Skyward sign-up process Please request a temporary login and password here.

- Examples of documents that can provide proof of age include, but are not limited to, a birth certificate, hospital record, passport or adoption record
- Records of Immunizations
- Students must meet state immunization requirements. Bring proof of immunization from your family physician or a local health department. The parent or guardian then transfers this information to a certificate of immunization and signs the certificate to verify its accuracy.

- Emergency contact Info (other than parent(s)/guardian(s))
- Ideally this person(s) living near the student
- Student's doctor(s) name and phone number
- Name of any medication(s) the student takes
- Medical condition(s) student may have
- 504 Plan or IEP (if applicable)
- Signed current IEP/504 & most recent signed evaluation
- Transcript or Academic History (if applicable)
- Students transferring from another school should bring academic records. The school may also ask if the student has been in any special programs in their previous school such as English Language Learner, special reading program, etc.
- Consent for Exchange of Information (if applicable) — If a student is transferring from another school, the parent or guardian must give their consent to transfer records from the student's previous school. It is helpful if the parent brings the name, address and phone number of the previous school.

Transferring from a LWSD Choice School

Please discuss with your current choice school’s registrar prior to transferring to Lake Washington High School. Once discussed with the current choice school registrar, please complete the Residency Verification Form and provide the required proof of residency documents below. Change of Address
To update your student’s address, please submit a new Residency Verification Form (Spanish) with two (2) of the items listed below (each bullet counts as one item). All addresses on the documents must match the address of your residence. You will need to present original documents.

Withdrawal Instructions
Withdrawing during the current school year?
E-mail the Registrar & Counselor before your last week the following:
- Parent(s)/Guardian’s full names
- Student’s full name
- Reason for withdrawal
- Last day of attendance
- Name of the school your student is transferring to
Contact each of your classes (Periods 1-7 and HR) to inform them of your last day and to request your current grade. If there should be an adjustment made to the class fee please ask your teacher to notify the cashier.
Email the Library to make arrangements to return your books, computer, charging cord, etc.
Contact the Cashier to verify that your account is current (as outstanding fines/fees will impact the our ability to share your official transcript with the new school)
Not returning in the next year?
E-mail the Registrar & Counselor the following:
- Parent(s)/Guardian’s full names
- Student’s full name
- Reason for withdrawal
- Last day of attendance
- Name of the school your student is transferring to
