Curriculum Night

Dear LWHS parents,

The 2019-20 curriculum night will be held on Wednesday, September 18th from 5:15 p.m.-8:00 p.m.

Optional information sessions begin at 5:30 p.m. in various rooms around the building.  At 6:05 p.m. you will follow your student's daily schedule, stopping for brief periods in each classroom to meet the teacher and learn about the class. If you would like to skip this step, you can print out your students' schedule at home from Skyward.  Please remember parking will be at a premium as we are undergoing construction.  Please consider carpooling or walking if that is an option.

Tech Help for Parents!



Need help navigating the Parent Portal?  Wondering how to use Skyward’s Student Access and PowerSchool to support your child?  Come to a brief overview at 5:30 pm in room 378 at LWHS.  This brief session will explain how to get logged into the Parent Portal, as well as demonstrate the most important technology tools that LW offers to support students in their learning. 


504/IEP/Special Education

This session will provide information about Credits / Grad Requirements, Accommodations, State Testing, and 504/IEP team communication and procedures.


Meet your student’s ELL teacher

Come to this session to find out about what our ELL/LEP program is doing to support your student and to get to know their ELL instructor


LWHS Orientation in Spanish

Please join us for an informative session covering the basic need-to-knows for all LW parents, in Spanish.


New to LW School District/Meet Ms. Thomas

This session will cover some of the basic information, details, and need-to-knows for parents/students new to the Lake Washington School District.


Xello & High School and Beyond Planning

A 5th year plan is a graduation requirement for all LWHS students. Come to this session for more information about this plan and the Career Cruising program we use to fulfill this graduation requirement.

This session is to introduce Parents to what AP classes are; the workload, expectations, advantages, and disadvantages. Whether your student is currently signed up for, or thinking about signing up in the future, this session will offer some insight on what to expect from AP classes taught at Lake Washington High School.


AP Capstone / AP Seminar

Come hear about LWHS’s new AP Capstone Diploma program, and the specifics of the AP Seminar course.  This session will provide a quick overview of the Capstone Diploma and Certificate options, as well as explain the format and expectations of the AP Seminar and AP Research classes.  While targeted to parents of AP Seminar students, those interested in the AP Capstone program will also find this session informative.
