State Testing Information

SBA & WCAS

Smarter Balance Assessment (or SBA) and the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) are Washington state exams. They are state graduation requirements, and it measures student skill in the areas of reading, writing and math.  

Grade 10 students take the Smarter Balanced Assessments in English Language Arts and Math. Grade 11 students take the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science.

Students must pass these state assessments for graduation.

2020 SBA Testing Dates for 10th Graders at LWHS:
May 18, 2019, 8:00-10:00 AM, SBA, English Language Arts (ELA), Computer Adaptive Test (CAT)
May 19, 2019, 8:00-10:00 AM, SBA, English Language Arts (ELA), Performance Tast (PT)
May 20, 2019, 8:00-10:00 AM, SBA, Math, Computer Adaptive Test (CAT)
May 21, 2019, 8:00-10:00 AM, SBA, Math,  Performance Tast (PT)

 

Test Results: 

Smarter Balance Assessment (SBA): The District will post test results into Skyward Family Access in June 2020.  Both the score and a PDF of the actual test report will be available. An email to families with more information will be sent by the end of May.

WCAS (Science): Test results won’t be available until late August or September.
